Finding time to run all of your errands is stressful, especially when places you need to go close on the early side. In recognition of the time crunch in people’s calendars, Sam’s Club is finally extending its hours so people have more time to shop. This announcement comes about four months after Costco extended its hours due to customer demand.
In a press release, Sam's says its decision to extend operating hours comes after “overwhelming member feedback.” You don't have to search long to find a post about the [former] early weekend closures on Reddit's r/SamsClub. It’s not surprising that customers want more flexibility in when they’re able to shop, since picking up groceries is an errand that can't be ignored.
Even better news: The extended hours add time in the mornings and in the evenings!

What Are the New Sam’s Club Hours?
Under the new schedule, which started on October 12, “most clubs will move to a simplified schedule of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day,” per the release. The first hour of each day, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., will be reserved only for Plus members.
The most newsworthy change to Sam’s Club’s hours is on Sunday. Previously, Sam’s Club locations were only open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., but now, you can order for curbside pickup starting at 7 a.m. That's especially convenient for anyone who’s taking care of family stuff on the weekend.
Plus members will be able to start shopping at 8 a.m., and the Café will begin serving food at 10 a.m. and stay open until 8 p.m., so you can still grab a slice of pizza or a $1.50 hot dog combo to fuel you up after walking down all those aisles.
Check Your Store's Holiday Hours
It seems like Sam’s Club’s new extended hours will be especially helpful during the holidays, when the crowds feel especially thick. I’m already looking forward to showing up bright and early at 9 a.m. on a Sunday, filling my cart with holiday snacks, and strolling out of the store with a crispy Diet Coke from the cafe long before the busiest time of day begins.
Speaking of the holidays, you may want to double-check your store’s hours during the busiest shopping season of the year. The press release says that store hours may vary on “certain holidays,” like Christmas Eve, when Sam’s Clubs across the country will close at 6 p.m. All locations will be closed on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and Easter.
