ALDI Just Slashed Prices on More Than 400 of Its Products

If ALDI wasn’t already your go-to grocery store, it will be now. This beloved chain dropped prices on nearly a quarter of its items across all of its stores nationwide.

It’s no secret that groceries have been expensive lately. Recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) suggests grocery prices have increased by at least 2% within the past year. On top of that, a recent Pew Research Center survey revealed that two-thirds of U.S. adults are “very concerned about the price of food and consumer goods.”

ALDI’s decision to buck the national trend and lower prices on over 400 grocery items—including fresh meat, organic produce, and pantry staples—is a major win for shoppers.

“Our customers count on ALDI for the lowest prices of any national grocer, every day, and we never take that trust for granted,” said Jason Hart, the CEO of ALDI, in a statement. “While customers may see higher prices at other retailers, we’re working hard to unlock even more value for our shoppers, just in time for summer’s lineup of holidays and gatherings where food takes center stage.”

The press release also says that ALDI's price cuts will help customers save $100 million this summer.

Which Products Will Cost Less?

ALDI hasn't shared a list of side-by-side cost comparisons, but the press release mentions the following items:

• Grass-fed ground beef burgers
• Baby back ribs
• Protein bars
• Nectarines
• Summit Popz prebiotic sodas

I can only hope this berry crumble pie will be on the list.

It’s unclear whether prices will stay reduced after summer ends, so make sure to reap the benefits of these while you can. If you don’t have an ALDI near you, that may change—the grocer soon plans to add more than 225 stores, coast to coast.
