Cheez-It Is Finally Making Its Most-Requested Snack of All Time

Everyone loves Cheez-Its. This iconic cracker earned our love with its bold cheese flavor, crispy baked texture, and a sprinkle of flaky salt atop every square.

Cheez-Its crushed its competition out of existence (remember Cheese Nips?) and now shares the cheesy cracker throne with Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar Goldfish.

There's only one problem with Cheez-Its. Despite having at least 12 different flavors and almost as many different product types, the lineup is missing something: a gluten-free version.

Now, Cheez-Its is finally ready to deliver.

Cheez-It announced its GF news on Instagram, stitched together with a video from @philhatesgluten, who said: "This is a message to Cheez-It. Make it gluten-free. Do it. It doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to be something."

The video cuts to a quick stitch from @cheezit where a box of gluten-free Cheez-It crackers is unceremoniously dropped on a table.

Immediately, fans commented on Instagram to say things like, "Please know, I will be crying tears of joy when I find my first box!" and "Best day of my LIFE 😭"

@philhatesgluten (and some Instagram commenters) say the crackers don't need to be perfect. But given how long it's taken Cheez-It to develop a GF version, I expect the crackers will be pretty close dupes for the originals.

In terms of details, Cheez-It hasn't shared much. The gluten-free crackers will be available sometime in 2026 (the Instagram post says "XX/XX/2026"), and based on the packaging, only the original Cheez-Its will be GF.

The fan response indicates that gluten-free Cheez-Its will sell out the second they hit the shelf, so we can only hope they aren't too busy making frozen pizza right now.
