Oreo Just Released Its Limited-Edition Fall Flavor, and I'm Stocking Up

And no, it’s not pumpkin spice.

I have to admit that for a very long time, I did not eat any of the limited-edition Oreo flavors. Even as a staunch Oreo fan—it’s by far my favorite cookie—I was never swayed by anything other than the classic. If I wanted to put a flavor spin on an Oreo, I would dunk one in peanut butter. It was a delicious twist.

In truth, my steadfast devotion to the one true Oreo was built on fear. What if one of these new Oreo flavors were so disappointing that it made me fall out of love with the original? I know this sounds very silly!

But in 2015, I had a much-needed change of heart. It was all thanks to the S’mores Oreo, their brand-new limited-edition variety.

I love and will try anything that is s’mores flavored, because it’s my favorite dessert. And the option to enjoy it mess-free, with no campfire needed, was a bonus. Since my first package of S’mores Oreos, I have embraced the world of Oreo variety.

That is why I am excited about the next limited-edition flavor Oreo has created to kick off fall: Apple Pie à la Mode. It will feature golden Oreo cookies and an apple pie and vanilla-flavored creme.

This is Oreo’s second foray into pie-inspired flavors this year. They recently released the Blueberry Pie Oreo, which is also fantastic. I bought a package at Aldi and ate it all within three days. I think the reason these pie-inspired Oreo flavors work so well is that the basic components of both desserts are the same: there’s a crust (cookie) and a cream (filling).

I love that Oreo is embracing one of the less-popular fall flavors. There are so many pumpkin spice releases around this time of year that it can get overwhelming. (Don’t worry, I’m not complaining, I love pumpkin spice!) But aside from pumpkin, there are many fall flavors to enjoy, including pecan, cinnamon, and apple, chief among them.

These Apple Pie Oreos will be available at stores nationwide starting on August 11. It’s a limited-edition drop, so once they’re gone, they’re gone for good! If you are an Oreo enthusiast, an apple pie aficionado, or just a big fan of seasonal offerings, you should pick up a pack on your next grocery store run.
