A beloved chocolate-hazelnut favorite is getting a frosty new twist.

On its own, Nutella is pretty darn great. There are few things better than the iconic flavor pairing of hazelnut and chocolate in a smooth, creamy spread, and now there’s a new product headed to your supermarket’s freezer case that will seriously level up your dessert game: Nutella ice cream.

Later this year, Wells International, also owned by Nutella’s parent company Ferrero, is set to debut two new frozen treats spiked with the classic cocoa-hazelnut spread. At this point, I’m wondering how Nutella ice cream has never happened before—at least in the United States. In 2024, the brand’s parent company, Ferrero, debuted an official Nutella gelato in Europe, an effort to compete with the “countless” gelato shops across the continent that serve their own versions of the treat.

And even though it’s taken forever for Nutella ice cream to make its way to the U.S., I’m ultimately just glad that it’s finally here.

What Is the New Nutella Ice Cream?

The latest offering from Wells Enterprises, the company behind popular ice cream brands such as Blue Bunny and Halo Top, Nutella Ice Cream will be sold in two formats: 14-ounce pints and single-serve cones. The ice cream boasts a chocolate-spiked base with “swirls of Nutella in every bite,” according to a release, and in the case of the single-serve offering, the ice cream is tucked into a crispy, chocolatey waffle cone.

The company will also debut another hazelnut frozen dessert inspired by the popular German chocolate bar Kinder Bueno. Like the actual Kinder Bueno, the frozen treat will combine the bar’s crunchy wafers and hazelnut-flavored cream into a convenient handheld dessert that’s perfect for stashing in the freezer for when a sweet tooth emergency strikes.

When You Can Get Your Hands on Nutella Ice Cream

Wells Enterprises is set to begin shipping both the Nutella ice cream and the Kinder Bueno cones to convenience stores across the United States on December 1, with plans for a broader retail release in Spring 2026.

I still have a few months to wait for its arrival, but I’m already busy dreaming up ways to regularly incorporate this new Nutella ice cream into my dessert routine. Perhaps I’ll dollop a scoop right on top of a warm chocolate cake fresh from the oven, or make hot fudge sundaes with Nutella Puppy Chow on top. Or, more likely, I’ll end up just scarfing the entire pint with a spoon while watching reality TV on my couch.
