Bonne Maman Just Released a New Flavor, and It’s An Instant Classic

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are one of my favorite comfort foods. I love slices of soft wheat sandwich bread filled with thick creamy peanut butter and sweet jam like strawberry or raspberry. In fact, I never get on an airplane without a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Airport food isn't good, and there is nothing more comforting on a stressful flight than a PB&J. 

As an adult, I developed the habit of buying raspberry jam, and I make a large batch of strawberry jam in early summer, which I enjoy throughout the year. As a kid, I always ate grape jelly. I was a very picky eater, and I enjoyed the smooth texture of grape jelly, which was particularly tasty with peanut butter. 

I recently got nostalgic for the flavor combo of PB and grape jelly, so I decided to grab some at the grocery store. 

I always buy Bonne Maman jams and jellies thanks to their high quality and texture. They come in the cutest, handiest 10-ounce jars, which are excellent for reusing as storage containers for ingredients and snacks. I have also used them to serve desserts, like puddings and parfaits. 

When I went to purchase Bonne Maman grape jam, I was surprised to learn the flavor wasn’t in stock. I checked the website and was even more surprised to learn that Bonne Maman didn't make grape jam! I was bummed. 

Not long after all this, I learned Bonne Maman was releasing a new flavor: Concord Grape Fruit Spread. Heck yes! 

Why I Love Bonne Maman’s New Concord Grape Fruit Spread

The concord grape jam is perfect. It feels like the grown-up version of grape jelly I loved as a child, since the flavor is more concentrated and less sweet. It's a fruit spread, so it's still very sweet, but the concord grape flavor is much more concentrated and deep. The texture is smooth, and the color is a deep dark purple. I love it. 

Besides my favorite PB&J sandwiches and toast, I plan to use it to make jam bars topped with my favorite granola and almonds. I will also try mixing a big spoonful into warm maple syrup to enjoy with homemade pancakes. 

I can also picture a Linzer cookie filled with Bonne Maman Concord Grape Spread. The next time I have fresh bagels, I'm excited to try it with cream cheese. A bagel with cream cheese and jam is one of my favorite breakfasts. 

I am so glad Bonne Maman has finally completed the lineup of delicious flavors with this perfect, smooth, and flavor-filled grape jam.
