Summer is brunch season—and if you’ve ever hosted one, you know that even with the best planning, there's never enough time to cook everything from scratch.
That’s why I always keep a jar of artichoke bruschetta in my pantry. It’s my emergency, last-minute appetizer that feels fancy, looks gourmet, and tastes like I stressed over it when really, all I did was open a jar and spoon it into a small serving bowl. But no one has to know.

Why I Love Walmart’s Bettergoods Artichoke Bruschetta
Walmart’s bettergoods Artichoke Bruschetta is exactly what I look for in a spreadable artichoke topping. Unlike some versions that are overly blended or oily, this one is delightfully chunky and flaky. You can see and taste the layers of tender artichoke petals, which give it a satisfying texture and a rustic look, perfect for scooping onto warm crostini or toasted baguette slices. Flavor-wise, it’s creamy with just a touch of tartness, and pleasantly mild in salt, making it easy to go back for more.
The pale, ivory-colored spread pops against a golden-brown toast, and with just a few finishing touches, it can truly impress. I like to add a drizzle of good olive oil, a sprinkle of chopped parsley or basil ribbons, and a few grinds of black pepper for color and contrast.
Sometimes I’ll add a squeeze of lemon to lift the flavors or, if I’m feeling indulgent, a bit of cheese under the spread and a quick broil in the oven. If you’re not convinced already, imagine a melty artichoke crostini that embodies all the cozy comfort of creamy spinach dip.
In fact, the texture reminds me a bit of creamed spinach, so much so that I’m tempted to try folding it into a warm holiday side dish. Creamed artichoke-spinach, anyone? It’s on my to-do list.
I’ve never made artichoke bruschetta from scratch, and honestly, I don’t plan to. As much as I love cooking, tackling a whole artichoke sounds intimidating, especially since trimming down an artichoke takes practice, and isolating the artichoke heart is a labor of love.
This bettergoods spread saves time and effort without sacrificing flavor. At $2.92 a jar, it is also more cost-productive when factoring in the other ingredients needed for a homemade artichoke bruschetta dip. Whether you're feeding a crowd for brunch or just treating yourself on the weekend, this jar is the kind of shortcut in life that makes everything so much better and stress-free.
