Aldi is a grocery store I’ve grown to love as an adult, since there wasn’t one in my hometown growing up. While they do carry a few outside brands in the store, the vast majority of its products are Aldi-branded. This means I had to do some exploring when I first started shopping there, and still do! Everything I’ve tried so far has been extremely tasty, but it feels like I’ve only scratched the surface of what the store carries.
I thought it would be smart to ask an Aldi expert for her product recommendations. And with soup season upon us, what better place to start than her pick for the best canned soup at Aldi?

The Best Aldi Canned Soup, According to an Aldi Expert
Jeanette Hurt is the author of The Unofficial Aldi Cookbook, and has been shopping at the store ever since she was young. “My mom was an Aldi nerd before that was a term, and when I moved out on my own after college, I immediately started shopping at Aldi because of its excellent prices and quality,” she shares.
This experience has made her something of an Aldi aficionado, with strong feelings about nearly every food category the store offers—including canned soups.
Her top pick is the brand’s own Specially Selected Tomato Parmesan Bisque. “I really enjoy this soup—it tastes so good on a cool autumn day,” Hurt shares. This jarred staple delivers the acidic bite you expect from a good homemade, perfectly balanced by its creamy consistency and touch of parmesan cheese. It’s a deeply satisfying, steamy bowl of soup.
“I love it for easy dinners, especially if I pair it with a salad or sandwich. My son loves taking it to school for lunch, too,” Hurt adds. While good served with crusty bread, this tomato soup is also nuanced and creamy enough to serve as a tasty pasta sauce.
And at just over four dollars per jar, the price of this soup available at Aldi locations nationwide is hard to beat.
There are some runners-up: Hurt also suggests Aldi’s bone broths. “I'm a big fan of their organic chicken and beef bone broths. I drank a lot of bone broth after I broke my ankle and use them in cooking frequently,” she says. These broths can be used to make soup, cook grains, sauces, pastas, and more.
“The Park Street Deli Chicken Noodle Soup is also a great option,” Hurt offers. With these canned picks, you're sure to find an Aldi soup to suit every palate at home—and I know exactly what I'll be grabbing on my next Aldi run!
