The $1.50 Dollar Tree Find I Always Keep on Hand

It’s such a great value.

I had been using Dawn Powerwash Dish Soap daily for a couple of years when I came across a foaming dish spray at Dollar Tree. Since it was only $1.50 (compared to the five-dollar Dawn), I couldn't resist picking it up to compare the two. The verdict?

While Dollar Tree's Power House Foaming Dish Spray is not a replica of Dawn Powerwash, it's a close enough copycat that has made tackling difficult stains more affordable. After several months of use, it's become my primary dish spray. I still use Dawn Powerwash, but I now reserve the more expensive brand for the much tougher, baked-on messes.

Why I Love Dollar Tree's Power House Foaming Dish Spray

The biggest win here is the value proposition—spending $1.50 instead of $5 for something that handles 80% of my dish-cleaning needs makes financial sense. Dawn still has the edge on really stubborn, set-in stains, but Dollar Tree's Power House Dish Spray works beautifully for most everyday messes, from egg yolk stains to the charred remains of sheet pan dinners.

The foaming spray creates satisfying suds that thoroughly clean, whether I'm pre-treating a pasta pot with hard-to-remove cheese remnants or doing a quick wash after cooking.

Beyond dish duty, I also use it to clean my stovetop, and to give my countertops and sink a wipe-down after meal prep or a day of regular dishes. I disinfect these areas regularly, but a quick spray and wipe with a sponge effectively removes oil splatters, food residue, and general stains. It also works wonders inside my microwave

I still appreciate Dawn Powerwash Dish Soap for its ability to tackle hard-to-remove stains. It has a much better spray function, so it covers a broader area, and works miracles on the pots and pans that I've often thought were beyond repair. For the most part, I have to spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes to work its magic. But there's still a problem I contend with.

One thing I've noticed is that the Dollar Tree spray runs out faster than Dawn. The nozzle releases more product per pump, making it ideal for quick jobs but less efficient when trying to stretch a bottle. Even so, I still come out ahead financially. I can buy three of the budget sprays for less than the cost of one Dawn, which more than offsets the quicker turnover.

Now, I may buy two products, but I'm saving money and having a better experience, which makes it worthwhile to make the extra trip.
