Like many people, I'm a sucker for a smart gadget, a helpful tool, or a piece of décor that pulls a space together—especially when it's affordable. I get even more excited when an item's intended purpose turns out to be entirely different in the real world, such as using wine holders to store my family's water bottles or discovering a cute cutlery caddy that can double as a desk organizer.
I feel the same way about these Dollar Tree metal display easels. They are designed to hold picture frames, but this stand is a prime example of "what I bought versus how I used it," and it's become an indispensable part of my kitchen setup. It looks cute sitting on my counter, but it's also a fantastic way to keep the things I need to see and read within easy reach.

Why I Love Dollar Tree's Metal Display Easel
For just over a dollar, these sturdy wire frames elevate whatever you place on them—literally and figuratively. The minimalist black, chrome, or gold metal design looks surprisingly chic with clean lines that can be easily incorporated into various styles of décor.
It's small enough to fit into many household spaces, but more importantly, it enriches the space by helping everything—from cookbooks to tablets—stand upright. Despite being lightweight and inexpensive, it's actually pretty stable and holds my heavier items well.
The slight angle makes reading much more comfortable, whether I'm following a recipe or video chatting with my sister while cooking. I also want to highlight how much I appreciate the sense of intentionality and organization it naturally brings to a space.
How I Use Dollar Tree's Metal Display Easel
While it's intended to display photos, I've found countless creative ways to use it. For me, it's most valuable as a cookbook holder. I prop the book up on the easel, and the angle keeps it open, allowing me to cook with my hands free and (mostly) keeping my pages safe from spills and splatters.
For times when I follow video recipes, it holds my tablet at the perfect angle for easy viewing. Above all, the entire setup resembles something from a home magazine rather than a collection of random Dollar Tree finds.
Beyond the kitchen, it can be used to display your kids' art projects or family photos. It would also be a fun way to feature an "exclusive" menu for a dinner party, a small chalkboard sign that says "Today's Menu," or even a framed motivational quote on your desk.
At $1.25 each, these easels deliver way more value than the price tag suggests. It's a prime example of how any space can be elevated with a bit of smart, affordable design.
