As a child, I really didn’t like leftovers. As an adult, however, I’ve learned that some dishes taste better the next day. But they need to be stored correctly—that’s my one caveat to leftovers. And, as always, Aldi has a great storage solution: the Crofton 8-piece Glass Bowls with Lids.

Aldi Crofton 8-Piece Glass Bowls With Lids

  • Price: $9.99 for a set of four bowls and four lids
  • Why I Love It: These sturdy glass bowls with lids are perfect for all my food storage needs. I especially love that everything is dishwasher-safe and easy to clean.

Why I Love Aldi Crofton 8-Piece Glass Bowls With Lids

A set of four glass bowls with silicone lids costs just under $10, which is why I’m excited to see that this Crofton product is back on Aldi's shelves. Last year, I purchased two sets, and I’m happy to add another set to my cupboards.

Although I have a collection of plastic containers and lids that my family has accumulated from takeout, I am trying to wean them off storing foods in plastic, as it’s not the best material for microwaving.

The only way to get my husband and son to toss these plastic takeout containers into the recycling bin is to have a stellar replacement. That’s where these Crofton 8-piece glass bowls with matching lids come in.

The set comes with four lidded glass bowls that easily stack inside each other. The second-largest bowl sits on its lid inside the largest bowl and holds the smaller ones; the lid of the largest bowl goes on top to keep everything together.

The largest bowl is just over seven inches in diameter and holds eight cups or half a gallon of food. The smallest is just under four inches in diameter and stores about one cup of food. The sets at my store came with either dark green or baby blue lids.

How I Use My 8-Piece Glass Bowls With Lids

Besides the easy ability to stack and store away in my cupboards for neat and tidy storage, I also love that I can toss both the lids and the bowls into my dishwasher for easy cleanup. So far, the lids have yet to take on the color of pasta sauce—I’ve had plenty of other storage containers that were permanently stained by marinara.

I use the largest bowls for mostly leftover entrées and baked goods, but I’ve also used them for marinating meats before grilling, too. The smallest is just the right size for leftover homemade salad dressings and sauces.  The two in-between sizes are usually used to hold overnight oats of different portions and other, smaller amounts of leftovers.

I love the versatility of these bowls and recommend buying two or three sets while you can find them in Aldi stores.
