My crisper drawer used to be a place where good leafy greens went to die, and my grocery budget was basically funding my compost pile. Each week, with renewed optimism, I'd buy fresh produce with the intention of using it all, only to watch some of my hard-earned money (and produce) slowly spoil.
Back in March, I picked up the Crofton Produce Container from Aldi's weekly finds, and it has completely changed how I store produce. It's so helpful, and now that Aldi is bringing back a Crofton Berry Storage Container, I'm planning on picking up another.
Aldi Croton Berry Storage Container
- Price: $9.99 for a two-pack of storage containers
- Why I Love It: I've saved so much money by not wasting produce that I've paid for the container 10 times over.

Why I'm Thrilled That Aldi Is Bringing the Produce Keeper Back
Having a produce keeper is like having a personal climate control system for my fruits and vegetables. The three-piece set-up (you get two of those) includes a clear outer container, a removable colander-style insert, and a vented lid that effectively manages humidity and airflow.
When I store produce in the container, according to the specifications, I watch as my spinach stays crisp and my berries stay mold-free for over a week, something that had never happened in my kitchen before. The colander keeps produce elevated from any moisture, while the adjustable vents regulate airflow to prevent that dreaded sogginess.
Since March, I've used mine for everything like lettuce that stays restaurant-crisp, expensive asparagus spears that remain slime-free, and snap peas that finally make it through my daughter's entire school week without losing their perfect crunch.
The clear container lets me see what I have, so nothing gets forgotten. I've saved so much money by not wasting produce that I've paid for the container ten times over.
However, I now need two more (since they come in a set of two). When my first container is full of prepped salad greens, I have nowhere to store fresh berries properly, and vice versa. I try to make one fit too many things, which defeats the purpose entirely.
Having two or three means that I can prep multiple types of produce at once, which helps keep my fridge organized and ensures I never have to watch expensive organic vegetables go to waste. If that's not a win, then I don't know what is.
For under $10, this precision container has saved me money and helped me stick to my healthy eating intentions. If you're tired of throwing money away on wilted produce, grab a set while Aldi has them back in stock. You might even want to pick up two.
