This $12.99 Aldi Find Is a Copycat of a $110 Cutting Board

It’s such a good deal.

When I bought my house in 2021, I was overjoyed and overwhelmed. Finally, the stress of deciding whether to extend my lease for another year was gone. In its place? Brand new stressors that I had never even heard of before.

The one that surprised me the most was how to stock my kitchen. Not with food, of course. With all of the other accoutrements: dinner plates, mugs, serving trays, silverware, etc. After living in an apartment for so long, I had gotten used to having a handful of coffee mugs, a few nice bowls, and a random assortment of cutlery.

Suddenly, I had the space to host, but none of the supplies. My beloved (and very faded) childhood Little Mermaid cereal bowl was not going to cut it as a serving bowl at a party. I had to stock up, and quickly. I relied on Ikea and Aldi, and was repeatedly blown away by what I was nabbing in the Aldi Finds aisle.

I got a $34.99 Crofton Dutch Oven that was a perfect Le Creuset dupe. My air-tight Crofton pantry containers were $12.99 for a set of three. I also got a cutting board set for $9.99 in my kitchen color, turquoise.

Now I have my eye on another Aldi find, because I love a good, affordable copycat: the $12.99 Crofton Acacia Wooden Chopping Block, available in both square and round styles. And the round one is very similar to a John Boo’s cutting board that goes for about $110. It’s basically the same object for one-tenth of the price.

Why Aldi’s Crofton Acacia Wooden Chopping Block Is Such a Steal

While I appreciate the functionality of a square chopping block for meal prep, a round board is ideal for displaying charcuterie. It would make a stunning centerpiece for any party.

There’s also an opportunity to do a family-favorite tradition of my own that we call “Fancy Snack Dinner.” You cut veggies, fruit, cheese, and summer sausage into fun shapes and arrange them on a nice plate. This acacia board would be even fancier for such an evening!

If you don’t like the darker finish of the acacia wood, there is also a bamboo version. So no matter what your kitchen or home aesthetic is, Crofton is there for you.

The cutting boards also make an excellent housewarming gift. How do I know? Two of my favorite housewarming gifts were cutting boards. It’s a thoughtful, practical way to welcome someone into their new home.

Fun shapes or beautiful finishes are always a great way to add some personality to a new home. Plus, it’s very easy to use them whenever the gift-givers come over.
