This $19.99 Aldi Appliance Is a Must-Have for Fall

When I lived in France as a student, I had a tiny room all to myself. It had a private bathroom, but lacked any kitchen space whatsoever. Aside from a mini fridge, I was totally on my own. The communal kitchen down the hallway had only two hot plates and a sink, so it was always crowded during meal times. After a few weeks of standing in line with my pot and pasta, I knew I needed a better solution.

Why I Love Aldi’s Ambiano Electric Glass Kettle

The kettle is only $19.99, which is a steal, and comes in two colors (green and black). What I love about this kettle, especially at this price point, is that it’s made of glass, not plastic. I’ve had both over the years, and I strongly prefer glass since it’s sturdier and dries more quickly than the plastic ones do.

An electric kettle works similarly to a traditional stovetop kettle, just faster. That’s thanks to the electricity, which heats the water quickly so it’s boiling before you know it.

The Ambiano kettle has a removable top, making it easy to fill and rinse. It’s an especially useful appliance in the fall when I want to heat water for hot drinks and soup quickly. 

I’ve even kept an electric kettle at work. It was easy to make myself a warm cup of tea or instant coffee when I needed an afternoon boost. At one job, I was able to keep the kettle at my desk, so I didn’t have to go to the break room to use it. I would fill it with water, make a cup of tea, and continue with my work.

It’s also great for making a fast and easy ramen for a desk lunch. Fill it up, turn it on, and about a minute later, it should be boiling.
