As a food writer and self-proclaimed Walmart fan, I’ve bought countless kitchen utensils over the years. Most were misses, but the Thyme & Table Silicone Spatula is a reliable standout. Firm, sturdy, and sleek, it’s dishwasher-safe and works on everything from delicate nonstick pans to heavy-duty cast iron. And since it’s not made of wood, I don’t feel guilty leaving it soaking in the sink while I procrastinate on dishes.

This spatula has become part of my daily cooking routine. I reach for it almost every day when I’m recipe testing or filming cooking videos, and it has held up better than many pricier tools I’ve owned.

Thyme & Table Silicone Spatula

  • Price: $4.88 for a 13-inch spatula
  • Why I Love It: Even after years of use, the silicone edge still feels sharp and precise—almost like a brand-new eraser on the first day of school.

What I Love About This Spatula

One of my favorite features is its shape. The spatula has a long, slender neck but a hefty base, which makes it easy to grip firmly without feeling clunky. That balance means less drag and resistance when stirring a large pot of soup, and the weight distribution toward the base and head makes it surprisingly stable when you rest it on the edge of a pot. When I’m cooking in a skillet, I’ll even prop it against the edge of a pan since I refuse to invest in a spoon rest.

I also appreciate its thoughtful design. A curved edge scrapes mixing bowls completely clean, while a straight edge reaches into pan corners for flipping pancakes or sautéing vegetables. On top of its function, it’s nice to look at. The dark speckled silicone reminds me of an inverted vanilla bean, and it has a subtle embossed logo that feels elevated without being gaudy. Best of all, the color hasn’t stained—even after cooking tomato sauces and curries.

Even compared to other more expensive silicone kitchen tools, the Thyme & Table Silicone Spatula still stands up against the competition when it comes to durability and functionality.

How To Help Your Spatula Last Forever

Like any good tool, a little care helps it last. For example, I’m often tempted to use it to scrape down the sides of my food processor bowl. But I always remove the blade first—otherwise, the sharp edges could nick the silicone. Small steps like that keep it in top shape for the long haul.

For less than $5, this unbeatable small purchase will make a big difference in your home kitchen. Honestly, I love it so much that I added the rest of the Thyme & Table utensil series (the slotted turner, brush, and spoon) to my collection!
