It's indisputable that what we consume in the news and media impacts what we eat. For instance, I recently listened to an episode of How I Built This about Sukhi's—they make my favorite frozen Indian foods. That night, I made butter chicken for dinner. And early this fall, after the longest reign of any British monarch, the world woke up without Queen Elizabeth II. For the next few weeks, our readers baked a lot of classic shortbread cookies. On the same side of the pond, The Great British Baking Show's “Mexican Week” took social media by storm—the episode was full of clichés, unsavory jokes, and bizarre pronunciations of Spanish words, like “glockymolo,” as contestant Carole calls guacamole.
