Kat Lieu is an author, food writer, recipe developer, and content creator. Kat is the visionary founder behind Subtle Asian Baking, the largest global online group that focuses on spreading the love and joy of Asian baking and fundraising for AANHPI communities, raising over $101,000 since 2020 for charities such as Welcome to Chinatown, The Very Asian Foundation, and The Wing Luke Museum. Drawing inspiration from culinary icons like Julia Child and Martha Stewart, Kat aspires to carve her own niche in the food world. She's been featured in Epicurious, Spruce Eats, Tasting Table, The Tamron Hall Show, and more. Additionally, she's been listed in 425 Magazine's 40 Under 40.
When she's not in the kitchen, Kat enjoys video games, unwinds to lo-fi beats, writes rom-coms during ungodly hours, and cherishes moments with family and pets, a shih-poo named Panda and a snail named Escargot. (She’s very creative when it comes to naming her pets.) She is the proud author of the best-selling cookbooks Modern Asian Baking at Home and Modern Asian Kitchen. A third cookbook, 108 Asian Cookies, is in the works. Kat is manifesting that by her fourth cookbook, she can grace the cover with her silly face and still see it fly off the shelves.
