It’s simple and fun to make.

Sometimes a recipe is just plain fun, and this easy frozen yogurt bark is exactly that. It’s fun to spread out some yogurt on a sheet pan and top it with colorful and delicious toppings. And because it’s made with Greek yogurt, it’s a protein-packed snack, too.

The base for this bark is very simple. Just whisk together Greek yogurt, honey, and vanilla. Taste the mixture before you freeze it and adjust the sweetness to your liking.

Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (this makes it easy to break up the bark later). Then, add your toppings! I love topping it with freeze-dried fruit and chocolate, but you can go in lots of directions here. Be sure to lightly press the toppings in so they stick.

The assembled bark should freeze for at least four hours once you have it spread and topped. Once it is frozen solid, you can break up the pieces and then store them in a freezer-safe bag or container for a month or so. I like to pull out a serving and let it sit at room temperature just for a minute or two to soften up a bit before digging in—enjoyed straight out of the freezer, it’s pretty crunchy.

The Best Kind of Yogurt To Use

I like to use whole-milk Greek yogurt for this bark since it’s rich and creamy. If you use a low-fat yogurt, just know that more ice will form in the bark, resulting in a less smooth frozen texture. If you use regular yogurt instead of Greek, I recommend straining it over a bowl in several layers of cheesecloth for an hour to remove excess liquid.

To make this recipe even easier, start with vanilla whole milk Greek yogurt and omit the honey and vanilla.

Topping Ideas

  • Go crunchy: I like adding crumbled vanilla wafers, but you could also use peanuts or seeds for the same crunchy texture.
  • Go fruity: Freeze-dried fruit works better than fresh here, so pick your favorite and go with it—I like strawberries.
  • Go tropical: Coconut flakes would be great!
  • Add some chocolate: Chocolate is a given at my house. I add mini chocolate chips, but you can use any chocolate chip you like or add a melted chocolate drizzle

How To Make My Easy Fro-Yo Bark

For eight servings, you’ll need:

  • 2 cups plain whole-milk Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup crumbled vanilla wafers
  • 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the yogurt, honey, and vanilla. Spread the mixture out on the parchment-lined baking sheet in a thin layer. Top the yogurt evenly with the crushed vanilla wafers, freeze-dried strawberries, and mini chocolate chips.

Freeze until firm, at least 4 hours. Break up the frozen bark into pieces and store in a freezer-safe zip-top bag for up to 1 month. Let a serving soften at room temperature for 1 to 2 minutes before enjoying.
