Whether it's for breakfast, topped with a healthy portion of blueberries and granola, as a sweet afternoon pick-me-up, or as a post-dinner treat, there's no denying that vanilla yogurt is as delicious as it is versatile.
That means there are tons of widely available options at the grocery store, making choosing an especially good one a bit tricky.
If you, like me, are looking for a brand delicious enough to end the search for the perfect vanilla yogurt altogether, I have great news for you: I asked five experts for their favorite brand, and they all responded with the same answer.

Simply Recipes / Siggi's
Why the Experts Love Siggi's Vanilla Yogurt
The main winning attribute of this yogurt is its texture. "Personally, texture is big for me. I don't like a yogurt that's too loose or liquidy," says Sprung. Luckily, that's not Siggi's. This yogurt is finely strained, resulting in a nice, thick consistency. The thick but creamy consistency is a trademark of Icelandic skyr (yogurt). "Siggi's has an almost custard-like texture that feels indulgent," adds Keckler.
This super creamy, extra thick texture doesn't make the yogurt heavy, though; instead, its vanilla flavor and slight tang make it an all-purpose choice.
"Siggi's Vanilla has a subtle tang," says Clarke, "there's also a real vanilla flavor that shines." Clark agrees: "You can tell that it's made with real vanilla. It doesn't taste artificial or overly sweet."
The real vanilla makes a big difference, urges Sprung, who says she's "not snobbish about it and won't reject a yogurt with artificial vanilla. But when you taste a yogurt made with real vanilla, it's an elevated experience—with Siggi's, you can even see the little vanilla bean specs inside!"
So, vanilla is an important ingredient, but the others in this Icelandic yogurt matter too. "The ingredients are simple and recognizable," says Clarke, "it's just milk, real Madagascar vanilla, and agave nectar without artificial flavoring or gums for thickening (fruit pectin is used instead)."
Keckler agrees, saying that she "loves that Siggi's short ingredient list has no fillers and no artificial sweeteners."
How To Enjoy Siggi's Vanilla Yogurt
When it comes to how to eat the stuff, Awada says: "I'll use Siggi's to make a yogurt bowl with berries and granola, topped with some shredded coconut and a drizzle of honey. But honestly, it's so good on its own that for the most part, I usually just enjoy the yogurt without anything added to it."
